Emmerse Studios is heading to Spring Fair next week to lift the lid on a new addition to its series of award-winning family games.
After what the firm has described as a ‘whirlwind year in 2018,’ Quirk’s designer and creator Emma May – who recently found herself included in the Mojo Nation 100 and ToyNews 30 under 30 – is looking to build on current momentum for her title.
Last October, May successfully funded a third version of Quirk! on Kickstarter and Quirk! Monsters will be presented to retailers for the first time in Birmingham, alongside the original Quirk! and Quirk! Legends.
Recently awarded ‘Recommended’ status by The Good Toy Guide, Quirk! is billed as an easy to grasp card game that plays like go-fish charades where players make impressions and act out characters to win Quirks from their opponents. The illustrated cards encourage children to use their imaginations to express themselves, socialise and build their confidence, while also honing their acting and vocal skills.
Each game contains 56 cards consisting of 39 character cards, seven tactic cards, seven skip cards and three Quirk Off! defence cards and is suitable for players aged five and above.
May said: “I’m delighted to be exhibiting at Spring Fair and making an even greater impact with Emmerse Studios this year.
"Quirk! has had a solid start and I am proud of how quickly my game has become a family favourite, but now I have three games for 2019 I am looking forward to welcoming more customers on-board and seeing Quirk! listed in more outlets.
"I am also working on plans to refresh my website and offer a more engaging online experience for fans of the game, so it’s a very busy time and I cannot wait to see what’s in-store for Quirk! over the coming months.”
