More than 50 million Squishmallows – the huggable plush line that was launched just two years ago – have now been sold across the globe, with ‘no signs of the demand slowing down,’ according to the product’s manufacturers.

Kellytoy has detailed the success of the to line that has, to date, mobilised a global audience of 200,000 followers across social media and picked up more than 20 million video views via TikTok alone.

“From the very beginning with the original squad, the amazing appeal of Squishmallows has driven significant, ongoing demand for this award-winning plush line,” said Kellytoy CEO Jonathan Kelly.

“The steadily increasing demand for our collectible plush toys and pillows have propelled the adorable squads of characters into an international phenomenon, making them one of the most recognisable and in-demand toys and pillows in the marketplace.”

Having made its debut in autumn 2017, the Squishmallows has expanded to more than 400 characters and are available in more than 40 countries.

Kellytoy promises that it will only get better, too, with more must-have characters in the pipeline for release later this year, including scrumptious fruit themes, soothing, comforting textured fabrics, eye-catching mystery bags, reversible Flip-a-Mallows (two Squishmallows in one) and seasonal styles for spring, autumn, and the holidays.

The range was developed as a “snuggly alternative to high tech toys”, and a gift alternative to chocolate and flowers. The versatile Squishmallows make for pillows, bedtime buddies, or travel companions.
