The Fallout franchise is known in games for its post-apocalyptic world, but that’s not the only thing that will be transported to the Amazon Prime Video series. During the series panel at CCXP 2023, the executive producer Graham Wagner revealed that We will also be able to see the franchise’s signature humor in the live-action version.

A hint of this was evident in the first trailer for the Fallout series, revealed during the event in Brazil. The preview describes that the series is from the same producers as The Boys and ‘Free Shipping’, making a play on the Amazon Prime subscription.

Speaking of The Boys, the producer indicates that the humor of the Fallout series should please those who enjoy the Prime Video series with misfit superheroes. According to Graham Wagner, Fallout will also use absurd situations to present comedy to the public.

No bug jokes

While the Fallout series promises to follow in the game’s footsteps and balance a dense story with humor and drama, an important part of the experience will be left out of the live-action. According to Graham, the series will not make any jokes or mention of traditional bugs that irritate and amuse players.

Graham said he is a fan of Bethesda games and, during the panel, he even recalled a bug that plagued him in The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall. The producer said that he even thought about making some reference to the subject in the series, but was unable to find a natural way to do so and ended up leaving the joke aside to ensure more immersion for the public.

The Fallout series premieres on April 12, 2024 on Amazon Prime Video streaming. With participation from Bethesda and executive produced by Todd Howard, production is led by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.
