The numbers were tallied by the Esports Charts platform, a specialist in this type of data. In total, the series had a peak of 6,402,760 million viewerssurpassing the Free Fire World Cup 2021which held the record with a peak of 5.4 million viewers.

Weibo vs T1 was the most popular esports match in history and, in total, the Worlds 2023 was also the most popular esports event in history.

These were not the first records in this edition of the LoL World Cup. The semi-final between T1 and JDG was the most watched in history, while the quarter-final between T1 and LNG was also the most watched in history.

Repercussions of the Worlds 2023 final

To reach the title, T1 needed to beat all LPL teams in the tournament, a feat that kept T1 from ever losing World Cup playoffs to Chinese teams in the history of the competition.
