A The Guard was the team that won the VALORANT Ascension 2023 and with that he won a place in the VCT Americas 2024but this Tuesday (29) Riot announced that the team will not participate in franchised league next year.
Why is The Guard missing from VCT Americas 2024?
It was informed that after several conversations the organization did not meet the requirements and failed to meet the VCT Americas participation response time limit.
After several months and rounds of communication with The Guard, the organization was unable to meet the deadline to agree to the Team Membership Agreement for VCT Americas. As a result, The Guard will not participate in the 2024 VCT Americas.
No replacement team in the franchise
In addition to confirming that the organization will not participate in VCT Americas 2024, Riot also informed that no team will replace the organization in the league. In this way, the tournament next year will continue with 10 teams.
It is worth remembering that VCT Americas is the franchised league that has the main teams in the Americas, including the three Brazilians: LOUD, FURIA e MIBR.
