In November last year, CD Projekt RED revealed that it was working on official mod tool for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Although a date was not confirmed at the time, the wait is finally over: the feature will arrive for free on May 21st — only for those who have a copy of the game on PC.

The Polish studio previously revealed that the The Witcher 3REDkit is a powerful set of tools based on the same resources that were used by RPG developers to create characters, scenarios, environments and missions.

“O The Witcher 3 REDkit offers the same powerful tools as the developers at CD Projekt RED, giving you the freedom to take your ideas to the next level and transform The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt into a playground for your imagination,” the studio said in November last year.

The Witcher franchise will have at least three games in the coming years

In October 2022, through X (formerly Twitter), CD Projekt RED also took fans by surprise by confirming that it is currently working on several projects related to the franchise The Witcher. At the time, three names were revealed: Polaris, Canis Major e Sirius.

Polaris is the codename of The Witcher 4, which will be the first in a new trilogy in the saga. Already Canis Major it refers to the long-awaited remake of the first game, which is being remade from scratch in Unreal Engine 5 and should only be released after the sequel — which does not yet have a date.

The project Sirius has not yet been revealed, but it is known that it is a game set in the universe of The Witcher which is being developed by The Molasses Flood studio. This will offer both a singleplayer and multiplayer experience — including a mission-filled campaign.

In addition to three games from The Witcher franchise, CD Projekt RED is also working on the concept of Cyberpunk 2.In addition to three games from The Witcher franchise, CD Projekt RED is also working on the concept of Cyberpunk 2.Source: CD Projekt RED

It was later confirmed that Cyberpunk 2 is in production. The sequence is codenamed Orion and, by the end of 2024, it will have a team of 80 people focused on its development. For now, the project is in the conceptual phase and should only come out after the next titles in the saga The Witcher.
