NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games confirmed, this Friday (08), that Mortal Kombat 1 will have a skin by actor Jean-Claude Van Damme. Wrestler Johnny Cage will have a look based on Frank Dux, played by the star in the film The big white dragon (1998).

In addition to the confirmation, the first trailer was released showing a little of the fighting style of Van Damme’s skin. In the final part of the video of just over 2 minutes, one of the character’s fatalities is shown.

“After 30 years we finally got Jean-Claude Van Damme as Johnny Cage”, celebrated Ed Boon, creator of the franchise Mortal Kombaton your social networks.

Boon highlighted the period of three decades because yesterday (07) he had already revealed during his participation on a YouTube channel about an attempt to develop the game Jean-Claude Van Damme: The Game.

“We tried several times going back and forth with him [Van Damme]”, he stated. “This time, we hit the lottery and we did it. We will have his voice and he will be the character of Johnny Cage, and it is the absolute moment to complete this cycle that we have”, he revealed.

Jean-Claude Van Damme’s skin will be exclusive to the Premium Edition of the game. Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on September 19th for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
