The end of the year is the perfect time to get together with the family and have fun in different ways after lunch or dinner. In addition to catching up, many people like to take the opportunity to play games that, by their nature, are synonymous with fun.
If you are already preparing a list for these occasions, the team at Voxel list below, in random order, seven games that cannot be missed at any family gathering. Check out our nominees below.
7. Gartic

Gartic is a game that has become quite popular in recent years. Its proposal is very simple: in each round, the system chooses one person to draw an object, while the others try to guess what is forming on the screen.
This is not the type of game where multiple people can come together to play cooperatively on a single device. However, the fact that it has a smartphone version allows everyone, including your distant cousins and uncles, to participate in the game.
It is also worth remembering that Gartic already has some variations that increase the interaction factor a little more. One of the possibilities, for example, is Gartic Phone: in this version, one person indicates an object or situation, another draws it and a third person tries to guess it.
6. Just Dance
For those who are not afraid to let go of the skeleton, Just Dance It has several versions on different platforms. Even if the control system changes between them, the proposal is always the same: literally dance to the rhythm of the music.
All recent versions support up to six players, just choose a song to rock your skeleton. Some games even have a modality in which players do not lose by dancing anyway — all in the name of fun.
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
This is an option for those who like to join forces in street fighting games. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is the most recent title starring Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello, offering support for up to six players.
The game has dozens of stages to explore and have fun, always with a boss at the end of each one. Just choose your favorite character, eat the pizzas that appear when the energy is low and do your best to reach the end of the adventure.
4. Overcooked 2
The proposal to Overcooked 2, at least in theory, is very simple: up to four players come together to prepare food in a restaurant. However, what we see in practice in many cases is chaos and people shouting at each other.
One of the main reasons for Overcooked 2 have become so popular with the public is the fact that one game is never the same as another. Even though the levels are identical, people never react the same way when under pressure, which makes it a great game for the end of the year.
3. Adedanha

Some know Adedanha by another name, such as Stop depending on the region in which you live. Despite having become popular in the pen and paper version, you can find applications that replicate the same formula.
In each round, a letter is chosen and everyone must write words that have that initial. Speed is the key word to do well here, as whoever scores the most points at the end of the match wins.
2. Image and action
Image and action are synonymous with success at family meetings.Source: Sphere/Reproduction
Whether on the board or using the app for Android and iOS, Image and action is another game that cannot be missed at family gatherings.
Divided into teams, participants must draw or perform an action so that the others try to get the exact word right. When this happens, the piece that represents the group moves across the board, and whoever reaches the end first wins.
1. ONE
UNO may cause a bit of discord, but it remains a fun game.Source: GettyImages/Reproduction
We can’t talk about games for family fun without mentioning ONE. The card game has become quite popular in recent years, including an application for mobile devices.
The proposal here is to bring together between two and 10 people, who each round receive seven cards with different colors and indications. Some are numerical and others represent actions such as skipping a person’s turn and taking more cards from the pile.
The objective is to clear the cards you have in your hand and don’t forget to say UNO when there is only one left. Therefore, it is worth working on your strategies and using your cards wisely to become the winner.
