Published by Devolver Digital and developed by Daniel Mullins, who worked on the acclaimed Pony Island e The Hex, Inscryption is a complete and addictive game that combines various deck-building mechanics with card battles and even escape rooms. The good news here, however, is that the game is now available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
The experience with Inscryption it’s about being trapped in a really terrifying cabin. A strange, unknown person challenges you to a round of card games — and, well, whenever you lose, the consequences are not good. Check out the trailer:
Launched in October 2021 and with a lot of praise from specialized critics, as well as some Game of the Year awards due to its different gameplay, Inscryption sold more than 1 million copies in just a few months of availability. Considering that it is an indie game with an unconventional proposal, it is a respectable number.

Inscryption brings gameplay that mixes deck building with roguelike and escape room puzzles in the right way — all combined with a pinch of psychological horror. Here, you will be trapped in a cabin with a mysterious entity who runs the game you must play to survive.
The card games themselves are very peculiar — some of them are even sensitive and alert the player to strange things happening around them. As you get up from the table to explore the room, you can complete various puzzles to learn more about the situation you’re in. Certainly, the game offers an experience that goes beyond the cards.
