The current generation of consoles has greatly improved game loading times and the ability to quickly expand storage. Western Digital has taken this to the next level with the 8TB WD_Black SN850P for the PlayStation 5, ensuring that no gamer will ever have to worry about running out of memory again.
The WD_ Black SN850P isn’t exactly a new model, but the 8TB version is a first. This Solid State Drive can still be purchased in 1, 2, and 4TB capacities, but this new version is a real treat for enthusiast gamers.
As a top-of-the-line SSD, the component uses the PCIe Gen 4 NVMe protocol with read speeds of up to 7,200 MB/s and 6,600 MB/s write speeds. These values may change according to each version, and the manufacturer also offers a 5-year factory warranty for users.

SSD allows installation of 200 games
According to Western Digital, the WD_Black SN850P has plenty of space to install around 200 games without worrying. With titles becoming increasingly demanding, it is possible that SSDs with such capacity will become increasingly common. To give you an idea, just Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 requires about 240 GB.
Even though it was developed for the PlayStation 5, the SSD is also compatible with computers, as it complies with the M.2 2280 format. The piece also has a nice built-in heat sink, since high-end SSDs can get quite hot on certain occasions.
The WD_SN850P SSD is available for purchase in the Brazilian market in 1, 2 and 4 TB versions. The 8 TB variant already appears on the brand’s official website for Brazil, but without price information.
