Valorant: Team Liquid makes history and is the first inclusive team to qualify for the Closed Qualifier

The teams classified for the second Closed Qualifier of Valorant Challengers Brazil 2024 (VCB) have already been defined, among them are SAGAZ Club, SAIDEIRA ESPORTS, Orquestra do Maestro and the notable Team Liquid, which gained prominence for its inclusive line-up.

Composed of bstrdd, daiki, bizerra, isaa, joojina and coach Palestra, the team made history by becoming the first inclusive team to qualify for the VCB2024 Closed Qualifier. The achievement occurred on Monday night (22), after the team beat the “Xenom with M” team on two maps (Bind and Split).

The second Closed Qualifier will begin on Friday (26), with eight teams from the Open Qualify competing for just two places in the main event. Information about broadcasts and times can be found on the official Riot Games Brasil channels.

Gabriel Jesus, striker for Arsenal and the Brazilian national team, was unfairly banned from Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) and turned to Valve, the game’s creator, for help. The player used Twitter to express his outrage, showing a message that indicated a “recorded game ban” on his Steam account.

Claiming that the ban was applied incorrectly, the athlete directly asked Valve for assistance, tagging his Counter-Strike profile and asking if they could help him. In addition to him, Brazilian athletes such as Neymar, Lucas Paquetá, Casemiro, Arthur, Nenê and other names have an affinity with Counter-Strike.

Sarah Fukuda, known as Sarahlaika and former professional player for The Union, a Valorant team, was found dead this Tuesday (23). According to friends and family, the 17-year-old girl took her own life. Sarah stood out on The Union Meraki, Valorant’s inclusive team, alongside players like hannabacon, Misty, Kaah and fer.

RMR Américas 2024 defined the teams participating in the qualifiers for PGL Major Copenhagen, the first Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) world championship. In total, there will be 35 Brazilian players and coaches representing the country in the competition: FURIA, MIBR, paiN Gaming, RED Canids, Imperial, ODDIK and Legacy, in addition to national players on international teams, such as skullz, from Liquid.

The event will be held in Monterrey, Mexico, from March 1st to 4th, using the Swiss system, with best-of-one matches (md1) and eliminatory or qualifying series in md5, where only the top-5 qualify for the worldwide.

Ubisoft has announced the groups for the Six Invitational 2024, the Rainbow Six world championship that will take place for the first time in Brazil, from February 13th to 25th, in São Paulo. Group C is highlighted as the “group of death”, featuring Brazilian teams w7m esports and Team Liquid, along with Virtus.pro, M80 and Bleed Esports.

Each group, made up of five teams, will see four advance to the playoffs, with the bottom team from each group being eliminated. The tournament, which brings together the 20 best teams from the previous year’s global ranking, will have its finals at Ginásio do Ibirapuera, in São Paulo, from February 23rd to 25th, with the public present.
