Sequel to the 2006 film, Return to Silent Hill was one of the topics of the new broadcast dedicated to news from the Konami franchise, which brought news from several projects and aired this Thursday (30) on official channels. The publisher showed a video with behind-the-scenes facts and never-before-seen scenes, although the premiere date is still a mystery.

The film, which once again counts on the direction and production of Christophe Gans e Victor Hadidapromises to add a new emotional layer to the psychological terror experienced by protagonist James Sunderland, who goes through a personal hell on a journey to find his wife — who is supposedly dead.

In the interview shared by Konami, the director emphasizes that Return to Silent Hill is being produced by a group of people and technicians who are passionate about the original work. Naturally, this affection would help ensure that the film’s design reaches a high level of fidelity.

This is evident in the behind-the-scenes scenes, where it is possible to see how faithful the setting and characterization of the characters are to the game. The creatures, according to the director, are also being created with the help of dancers and acrobats to make the performance even more realistic and horrifying.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that Akira Yamaoka, who is the composer and producer on Silent Hill 2is also working on Return to Silent Hill to make its identity consistent with what fans expect from an adaptation. “It’s exactly like working on a great book. It’s important to show respect and humility during the process”said director Christophe Gans.

It’s worth remembering that Konami is also working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, which is run by Bloober Team (The Medium) and arrives on October 8th for PlayStation 5 and PC, via the Steam platform. In 2022, a Konami spokesperson stated that Christophe Gans’ proposal to work on a sequel to the 2006 film, which was a box office success, served as a kickstart to also work on a game.
