Scheduled to premiere on April 10, Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout series began receiving its first previews this Monday (8). While full reviews of the adaptation have not yet been released, the initial impressions she left are proving to be quite positive.

One of the vehicles that had the opportunity to check out the first episodes, the website Insider-Gaming stated that they are worth following even if you are not a fan of the games. According to the page, the first chapter establishes its universe and characters so well that it provokes the desire to marathon all the others.

Fallout series brings many elements from the game

The person who also checked out the series before its premiere was the YouTuber MrRoflWaffles, which was quite complimentary. According to him, it was a lot of fun to see several elements of the game being faithfully adapted, including items such as the pip-boy, how weapons work and combat choreography.

He also praised the performances of Walton Goggins (The Ghoul) and Kyle MacLachlan (Hank), stating that he would be willing to go to war for them. However, he notes that the first episodes bring some pacing issuesdeveloping events in a way that could be a little less rushed.

However, the initial verdict is that the Fallout adaptation “honors the legacy of one of gaming’s most beloved franchises”. The YouTuber I Am Lost He was also excited, stating on X/Twitter that he believes that many fans of any of the games in the franchise will be very excited.

Although the series uses locations, corporations and factions known from the games, it is not an adaptation of any specific game. Amazon worked together with Kilter Films and Bethesda to create an unprecedented narrative that, although canonical, features new characters and can be understood without any prior knowledge.

The first season of Fallout will have a total of 8 episodes, all of which will be available on the same day. The series is directed by Jonathan Nolan, who created it in partnership with Lisa Joy. Director of the most recent games made by Bethesda, Todd Howard served as executive producer of the adaptation.
