Medicom Toy from Japan has put up for pre-sale an incredible car from its Miracle Action Figure EX (MAFEX) line inspired by the classic cartoon Wacky Races, which had 34 episodes produced by Hanna-Barbera and originally aired between September 1968 and January 1969.
The Wacky Races “Mean Machine” MAFEX Vehicle set reproduces in detail Car 00, known as the “Evil Machine”, with its unique look, including purple body, removable cockpit cover, jet thrusters and two interchangeable fronts, one with a giant magnet.
The MAFEX Vehicle “Mean Machine” comes with 2 different tire shapes with spikes (one set for display and one for rolling) and the iconic trap with magnetic arm and stud-spreading hand that are so memorable in the cartoon. The thumbtacks are included and the trap is also removable.
The Wacky Races “Mean Machine” MAFEX Vehicle set also comes with figures of the villain duo Dick Dastardly (Dick Dastardly) and his canine accomplice Muttley, in sitting poses to be placed in or removed from the Machine of Evil. The car has a detailed dashboard and seat of the sliding passenger.
The car is officially licensed by Hanna-Barbera and measures approximately 24 cm (9.5”) long. The Evil Machine, in the cartoon, is extremely fast and efficient, but Dick Dastardly’s obsession with sabotaging his competitors makes him stop frequently to try to hinder them, failing to cross the finish line first.
The Wacky Races “Mean Machine” MAFEX Vehicle cart costs US$94.99 on pre-order from Entertainment Earth, which accepts orders from Brazil.
