In recent hours came the first reactions of Superman, which by the way were quite positive. Now we have the final verdict of how the movie came up with the specialized media.

At the time of this publication, the Superman film is available with 86% approval in the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, based on 76 “fresh” and 12 “rotten” analyzes.

Discussing Film: “Despite an excessively complicated story and action scenes that boil down to loud noise and exaggerated effects, Superman is saved by the main trio of protagonists and the fundamental understanding that James Gunn has of the character.”

Associated Press: “Something quite rare in the mass production style of today’s superhero movies: humanity.”

We’re Watching What: “A good movie raised to something grand for the moment it was released. Superman may seem old-fashioned, but living in our worst phase has rekindled the need for hopeful heroes. Gunn brings his characteristic mood and tries to balance him (albeit often unequal) with sincerity.”

And Murrell: “You don’t have to convince me that Superman is grand, but he needs to show me why, by 2025, I should care about this version … We received a ton of universe construction and promises for the future at the expense of the present.”

Toronto Star: “The screenwriter and director Gunn is brilliant in creating shows and conceiving alien kingdoms … What Gunn is not doing so well is telling stories. Superman is all dispersed, not only geographically, but also narratively.”

ComicBook: “What makes Superman work is the same that has made other adaptations of Gunn so beloved: as a filmmaker, Gunn is not afraid to embrace the comics that are in the heart of the original material.”

The Times (UK): “Gunn addresses the most celebrated property of the ‘nerdósfeit’ as an euphoric amnesic who lost the rise and dizzying fall of Marvel-like superhero films and seems to be attached somewhere from the early 2010 years.”

Superman hits theaters on July 10.
