Palworldaffectionately nicknamed “Pokémon with weapons“, is about to bring a new perspective to the monster-catching world. This quirky title, which combines RPG, survival, and crafting elements, is set to launch in early access on January 19, 2024. With a darker approach and full of action, it promises to challenge the conventions of the genre and offer an unusual and fun gaming experience.
The game will be released for US$29.99 (about R$112 in direct conversion) during early access and will be available on PC (via Steam and Xbox App), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Furthermore, the title will reach the Game Pass on launch dayproviding subscribers with an immediate opportunity to explore this intriguing world.
Pokémon for adults with multiplayer
Palworld offers a differentiated experience, in which players not only capture the creatures known as Pals, but also explore them in unusual ways. In addition to fighting alongside them, we can employ them in tasks such as forced labor in factories, equipping them with weapons for combat, and in extreme situations, even sacrificing them for survival.
The relationship between humans and monsters is also more “work-based” compared to what we know in Pokémon. The game allows pets to be used to collect resources and plow fields, in addition to participating in intense battles.
The multiplayer aspect of the title is one of its biggest attractions. You Players can form teams of up to four people to explore and survive together, or participate in larger servers with capacity for up to 32 players. The developer also points out that it will be possible to play alone and offline.
The early access version will feature more than 100 types of Pals, and the developer plans to add new creatures and expand server capacity in the future. In addition, the team promises more than 70 buildings and 350 items, offering a wide range of exploration and construction possibilities.

Palworld, following its early access release, is set to receive a series of updates and expansions. Pocket Pair, the game’s developer, plans to release a roadmap for the first year after launch, which will include details on the introduction of new Pals and the increase in explorable areas. These updates aim to enrich the game universe and offer new content to players.
While PvP (player versus player) is not initially available, the team is working internally to test and experiment with different approaches, with the aim of finding a format that fits perfectly into the world of the title. Additionally, while crossplay between Xbox and Steam will not be supported at launch, there are plans to implement this functionality as soon as possible.
Another interesting aspect is modification support. Palworldbuilt on Unreal Engine 5, plans to add Steam Workshop support after launch, opening the door to a creative community that will be able to create and share their own mods.
For players concerned about the nature of the game, the developer assures that it is not a scam nor a game focused on microtransactions or virtual currency. Once purchased, it belongs to the player forever, and any future expansions will be discussed with the community.
