After Microsoft officially announced 9,000 layoffs across the company, game studios are slowly speaking out about how they’ve been affected, and unfortunately the situation for Turn 10 is worrying.
It was previously reported that the Forza Motorsport studio lost around 50% of its staff . Now, according to new information from Fred Russell , former content coordinator at Turn 10, the core Forza Motorsport team has been disbanded.
In other words, this signals the end of the original core of the franchise, and from now on, Turn 10 could become a support studio for Forza Tech and Forza Horizon, moving away from the main development of Forza Motorsport.

“Turn 10 Studios has closed its Forza Motorsport space and the team is no longer in existence. A very sad day for one of the greatest racing games. I loved my time there,” said Fred Russell.
It’s worth noting that Microsoft has yet to issue an official statement regarding the layoffs or the future of the franchise. Forza Motorsport is one of Xbox’s premier simulation racing franchises.
Despite its success, the latest game released in the franchise faced serious problems upon its launch, with the community criticizing the game in every possible way, claiming lack of content, buggy gameplay, downgrades and more.
In any case, let’s wait for more information from Microsoft.
