A new wave of rumors indicates that The Last of Us 2 Remastered will not be the only release of its kind from Sony in the coming months. According to speculation, the company may will soon present remasters of Horizon Forbidden West and Days Gonewhich will supposedly arrive on PS5 and even PC.

Details about the projects are scarce, but the remaster of Horizon Forbidden West has already appeared in a registry for PC and PlayStation 5. The remaster of Days Gone, on the other hand, has been mentioned by journalists abroad, who supposedly have sources close to the company.

While nothing has been confirmed so farthe subject is already generating comments on the internet, mainly due to the choice of games that will be remastered by Sony. After all, while Many fans are asking for an enhanced edition of Bloodborne On PlayStation consoles, the company continues to invest in games that already run well on the PS5.

Nobody asked for it, but Days Gone could get a remaster on PS5.

However, even without official information, it is possible to try to understand what is happening, and this is the topic of our opinion column today. Apparently, Remastering games like Days Gone and Horizon could bring PlayStation quick and easy cashand without as much work, and also applause, than Bloodborne.

The remasters that nobody asked for, but that can be charged for on PS5 and PS5 Pro

One of the reasons that explain the supposed remasters of Horizon Forbidden West and Days Gone for the PS5 is the aforementioned The Last of Us 2 Remastered. Released in January, the game arrived with some specific improvements in relation to the experience that was already delivered on the new generation console, but nothing that really justified a re-release — at least that was the conclusion we reached in our review.

@voxeloficial WHERE IS THE BLOODBORNE REMASTER? One of the best games released for the PlayStation 4 still doesn’t have a remastered version, while less popular games continue to receive attention from Sony. But why? #blodborne #remaster #ps5pro #ps4 #ps5 #thelastofus #daysgone #videogames #games ? original sound – Voxeloficial

In the case of Horizon and Days Gone, the trend is that the remastering will be similar: both games should receive specific improvements that enhance the experience beyond the stability and 60 frames per second that already exists on the PS5 today. However, with the arrival of the PlayStation 5 Pro now in November, Sony has an “excuse” to carry out these releases.

The new console promises to bring an experience that prevents players from having to choose between a “performance or quality” mode. Since both Horizon and Days Gone already run well on the standard PS5, the tendency is that the remaster will really just be an upgrade with more beautiful graphics and, who knows, a mode with an unlocked framerate, for example, on the PS5 Pro.

Horizon Zero DawnHorizon Zero Dawn already has a full version and runs at 60 frames per second on the PS5, but it should receive a remaster.

It is also worth mentioning that both games are already available on PC, with ports that have good quality and cutting-edge graphics. In other words, in theory, Sony’s studios may not even have to work that hard to produce this remastered version.

The big question now is the price. While some games will receive free upgrades on the PS5 Pro, the release of a “Remastered” version gives Sony a reason to change the price of its old games again, taking more money from those who have played these experiences before and are looking for a “definitive” version.

In the case of The Last of Us 2 Remastered, the game was released for R$250, an increase of R$50 compared to the price of the original PS4 game today, which is still available. Whether this price is worth it for the content delivered is up to the player to decide.

And where is the Bloodborne remaster?

And if you’re wondering why the company doesn’t do a remaster or re-release of Bloodborne, the answer may involve two factors: time and money. While the company doesn’t have to go to such lengths to re-release and charge new prices for Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn, improving FromSoftware’s iconic game could be more complicated.

While rumors about Bloodborne’s PC release and a PS5 patch are always circulating the internet, the execution ends up being more difficult for Sony. After all, the company does not own FromSoftware and, to bring the studio back to work on the game, PlayStation may have to make a larger investment.

Does this mean that Bloodborne might not get a remaster for PS5 and PS5 Pro? Definitely not — there have even been recent rumors that it could happen. However, since the game turns 10 years old in 2025, it’s not surprising that Sony could even release a full remake of the title, which would allow it to charge the full price of R$350.

While all we have right now are rumors and opinions based on market behavior, one thing is for sure: Sony would definitely like to make a quick and easy buck, and if consumers indicate that this is possible through unsolicited remasters, the company will definitely do it.
