Four days after the VALUING Win the Esports Game of the Year category at the Esports Awardsthe global director, Leo Fariaparticipated in MD3. After the program, the Brazilian scene community with players, coaches and staff criticized the Brazilian and Riot Games about the current competitive scene.
See reaction from the Brazilian VALORANT scene
The icing on the cake was him saying that at the moment they are not thinking about a bundle for inclusive, to maintain the hunger of those who are in inclusive, to also get to Challengers.
That’s what it’s about, folks, and that’s okay!
xD

The guy said that the local Valorant league needs to have an audience, after having turned it into a practically amateur league with no orgs.
And also after taking the best players/orgs to play for the franchises.
This is a joke, right?— Vicenzzo Mandetta (@Vicenzzo_) December 4, 2023
To be quite honest, one of the things that caused me the most discomfort in this interview was understanding that Leo, in a way, also blamed the public for not watching/supporting the broadcasts, resulting in a lack of investment and interest.
This is simply SURREAL! https://t.co/uPkntkLnkb— pepA (@pepafps) December 4, 2023
Leo Farias doesn’t need to spend 3 years for you to be sure that we won’t see the Américas League as OUR league, our LEAGUE is called VCT BR!

Leo has money in his pocket, do you think he cares guys?

This interview? A disservice.
There was no clarification or justification.
The answers were shallow and ambiguous, and the statements about t2 caused anxiety, mainly because there was no one from the scene to respond.
One side asserted absurdities, and the other agreed.

It’s difficult to have an audience with everything that’s been happening.
Many players and ORGs leaving the scene and it’s the audience’s fault??
They are literally the product of competitiveness, thus attracting people to watch.
I was one of them, thanks to LOUD 2022.

The criticism towards the director is not new after a year with a lot of dissatisfaction from regional organizations and the community. It is worth mentioning that with the shorter calendar, organizations in Brazil such as: The Union, Liberty, ODDIK, Vivo Key Stars, left the sport.
