Donkey Kong Bananza, the newest title of this beloved Nintendo franchise, recently arrived at Switch 2. Although the console has not yet completed even 2 months, it seems enough for the game to be a success.
According to journalist Christopher Dering, the game has achieved great performance in the UK. In its first week, the game reached the top of the physical sales ranking and even had a stronger release than the Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze version for Nintendo Switch, selling 3 times more.
“Donkey Kong Bananza debuts in 1st place in the UK ranking (physical sales). Its release was 3 times higher than Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch. However, it represents less than half of Super Mario Odyssey’s performance.”
Still, the game sold only half of what Super Mario Odyssey got in its release. Mario is undoubtedly a much stronger brand, not to mention that Super Mario Odyssey was launched 7 months after the switch arrives on the market, having a larger number of users with the console.
Donkey Kong Bananza is now available for Nintendo Switch 2.
