Star Wars Outlaws certainly did not have a very strong release, failing to fall to the public’s taste. CEO Yves Guillemot himself even blamed the failure of the game in the troubled period that the Star Wars brand has spent in recent years. Unfortunately, it seems that this affected future projects of the company.
The well -known insider Tom Henderson recently commented on his channel that Ubisoft would have canceled the development of Star Wars Outlaws 2. The project was still in the early phase of planning, years of distance from its release, but it seems that it will never see the light of day.
Another interesting novelty shared by the insider was about the next Ghost Reton. A big change will be that the game should adopt Unreal Engine. This would be a significant change in relation to the latest games of the company, which have always used their own engines.
According to him, the exchange of Ghost Recon to first person was a way to return the franchise to its roots. Insider also reiterated that Ubisoft is using the Ready or Not as a strong inspiration for the new title.
The Insider states that these changes in its games and project cancellations would be a way for Ubisoft to reinvent itself and recover the prestige it would have before. The company recently made several controversial statements, such as stating that microtransations make games more fun.
