These last months have been full of news for fans of The Last of Us. After the end of the second season of the HBO series and the release of chronological mode in the game, now Naughty Dog prepares to bring a franchise book.
Scheduled to launch on December 16, 2025, the book will tell the scripts of the two games available for fans to read as a full story and will reach $ 70. The book will feature 616 pages and is being made by Naughty Dog in collaboration with Dark Hose Books. The scripts will be the original written by Neil Druckmann and Halley Gross, responsible for the games.
Neil Druckmann commented on the project:
“In the beginning, The Last of Us was a series of philosophical themes – mourning, unconditional love, the relentless pursuit of justice – waiting to be shaped in a story. These scripts, written during the development of games, were intended to guide our team while we gave life to that world. They were never made to be seen by the public – so far. bring even closer to the heart of Joel, Ellie, Abby and the world they live in. ”
The co-scribe Halley Gross added:
“Neil and I had the honor of conducting this story, but the truth is that it only exists thanks to Naughty Dog’s extraordinary team. Each moment was built by people who put all their hearts and talent in what they do. This collection is a tribute to the studio and a celebration of what is possible when we create together.”
Unfortunately the book has so far release only in English, it remains to be waited if Dark Horse or another publisher will find it to other languages.
Speaking of The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann recently announced that he was leaving the production of the HBO series for season three as he will focus on developing Naughty Dog’s future titles.
