The Evil Within free: see requirements to run the game on PC

This Thursday (19), the Epic Games Store made two games available for free to the public. The big highlight was The Evil Withinwhich is quite famous for its horror and suspense themes.

Available in the range until October 26th, The Evil Within was directed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of the series Resident Evil. Unlike what he developed while at Capcom, This project is more focused on psychological horror, with a footprint that always leaves him with a feeling of impotence in the face of various threats.

Going crazy in the asylum

The history of The Evil Within narrates the journey of Sebastian Castellanos, an investigator called to try to discover the reasons behind a series of murders in an asylum. However, just a few minutes at the location are enough for him to realize that an evil force is acting there, which explains the several bodies scattered around the place.

Everything here happens in a third-person perspective, very similar to the one seen in Resident Evil 4. To deal with the various threats that stand in the way, the protagonist can use different weapons that are on the scene or his own hands, in addition to using matches to burn opponents still alive and save ammunition.

Another important point is that Sebastian can move in a sneaky way, allowing him to get close to enemies to hit them accurately while their back is turned, or distract them to carry out the execution in a grip that is very reminiscent of The Last of Us.
