It’s been seven years since Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls VI, and since then we haven’t had news about the title. With the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 having been beaten by the game, the chances of seeing something later this year seem to be smaller and smaller.

Nevertheless, development seems to be advancing well. According to journalist Jez Corden, Bethesda has reached an important milestone: the conclusion of the central gameplay base. This means that the game is already in a playable state, although quite initial.

The production would have started only in late 2023, but it would be progressing at a rapid pace, with the core of the gameplay already finished. Unfortunately, it seems that Bethesda has not yet defined a launch window.

In addition, Jez states that Bethesda finally approved the development of Fallout 5. However, the green light for the next studio’s post-apocalyptic RPG would have been the main reason behind the recent Zenimax MMO cancellation.
