Steam gets 6 new free games this week! See the list

Steam is a reference when we think about PC games and, among so many releases with varying prices, the platform also receives a selection of free games every week.

Of course, these experiences are not always complete, serving only as a demonstration of complete titles in the catalog. Still, it can be an opportunity to discover something new or have fun without much commitment in your free time.

According to a survey by SteamDB, which brings to light a lot of interesting data about Valve’s platform, more than 338 titles were released in the catalog in the last seven days alone. Thinking about it, the Voxel brings you six new free games coming to Steam this week for you to discover, redeem and enjoy. Check it out:

Mirth Melody

Produced by Clay Game Studio, Mirth Melody is a cute, colorful and cozy little game in which users control a charismatic little duck named Dodo. You can explore the forest, interact with different items and animals and play the guitar in a simple rhythm game.

It’s interesting to note that the producer is working on another game starring your character, called Mirth Island and even promises farm mechanics. It’s not yet clear whether this new game will also be free, however.

Katawa Shoujo

Originally released in 2012, Katawa Shoujo is a visual novel which draws attention for its cast of characters, who are PcD children. With a bishoujo aesthetic, the game tells the story of Hisao Nakai, a boy whose life is completely transformed after being hospitalized due to a congenital heart problem.

With this, Hisao is enrolled in a school dedicated to children with disabilities and, despite the difficulties, he manages to make friends. According to the developer, the game offers five possible routes corresponding to each of the heroines. In addition, it has very positive reviews and is praised for its inclusive approach. Unfortunately, the game does not support subtitles in PT-BR.

Dark Lord

Dark Lord is a roguelike RPG that promises plenty of strategy, adventure and humor. With hand-drawn visuals, the game puts the user in the role of a Dark Lord who has to find the delicate balance between political intrigue and military might.

Localized in Brazilian Portuguese, Dark Lord’s premise is to cultivate territories, manage advisors who can stab you in the back, plan conspiracies and face missions that draw attention to their humorous writing. It all happens with card-based gameplay and visual novel elements.

Shifter

Shifter is a platform and puzzle game with very minimalist visuals. As the name suggests, the idea is to travel between dimensions — that of light and that of darkness — to transform the world around you and uncover secrets.

The game is the result of a student project and was published by the DigiPen Institute of Technology, which has campuses located in the United States, Singapore and Spain.

Memento Mori

Described as a walking simulator, Memento Mori is a game that combines a minimalist artistic style and the feeling of overcoming grief. The basic premise is that the player finds himself lost in an unknown forest, not knowing if he will find answers or more questions along the way.

The narrative is told in a purely visual way, as the game does not even have any lines of dialogue. Therefore, Memento Mori promises a very introspective experience with room for user interpretation, with great surrealist inspirations.

KIBORG: Arena

With good reviews on Steam, KIBORG: Arena is an action roguelite and hack and slash. Contrary to what the title suggests, it is a single-player experience that pits the user against endless hordes of enemies, which gradually increase in difficulty.

The gameplay features mechanics such as dodging and parrying to gain an advantage over enemies. By collecting resources, you can also unlock permanent improvements that make your character stronger and more versatile.
