For those who do not know, it has recently been officially confirmed that a new Resident Evil -based film is underway, although the exact details about the feature are still completely unknown.
Zach Cregger, known as Barbarian (Brutal Nights), is driving the new Resident Evil movie. He is also a big fan of the games, having played them all, especially Resident Evil 4, which he considers a personal favorite.
During an interview, Zach Cregger said he does not intend to strictly follow Lore of Games, seeking to create a story that captures the essence of the experience of playing them, but without being “completely obedient” to the original narrative.
“I’m a gigantic fan of Resident Evil games. I played them all. I can’t say how many times I’ve finished [RE4] again and again. I just love it. I am definitely not trying to be totally true to the canon of the games. ”
“I’m trying to tell a story that seems authentic about the experience you have when playing games. I don’t think I’m breaking any important rule, but I also recognize that no matter what I do, people will come after me on the internet.”
“So, all I want is to make a really good movie and tell a story that is engaging. I know I’ll be satisfied with the movie and, with luck, other people too.”
The filming of the film has not yet started, but it is rumored that the script is almost done, and the central figure will be a unlucky delivery man who ends in the hospital at the wrong time.
