For those who do not know, it has recently been officially confirmed that a new Resident Evil -based film is underway, although the exact details about the feature are still completely unknown.

On the other hand, rumors are in full swing, revealing possible details of the new film adaptation, which is supposed to be during Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 events, with Raccoon City still intact, but in the midst of a surge that culminates in the destruction of the city by a bomb.

According to unconfirmed details, the film follows Bryan, an organ delivery man (played by Austin Abrams), who should make a night delivery to Raccoon City General Hospital.

“Bryan (Austin Abrams), an organ delivery, is sent to a night delivery at Raccoon City General Hospital,” says the synopsis. “On the way, by a snow-covered mountain range, he ends up running over a strange woman with the car. She survives, but something is very wrong. When trying to help her, Bryan ends up getting involved in a complete outbreak involving horrifying mutations with bioengenee tentacles and monstrosities.”

Despite being true to the spirit of games, the movie apparently does not directly adapt their stories, creating an original narrative, so it is unclear if we will have known characters of games like Leon or Jill.

The film is scheduled to premiere in theaters in September 2026.
