Sony finally revealed the PS5 Pro last Tuesday (10), during a technical showcase presented by Mark Cerny. The new console from the Japanese giant will have several features to improve the performance of games, such as the PS5 Pro Enhanced, which will cover more than 50 titles at the launch of the device. However, It seems that the technology will not guarantee 60 FPS in some games, despite the promises.

According to sources from the The VergeSony would be asking developers to create a new PS5 Pro-exclusive graphics mode in games that combines the new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), 4K resolution, 60 FPS and even ray tracing.

However, the requirements for a title to be classified in the PS5 Pro Enhanced category are very varied and developers will basically be able to choose what they specifically want to improve in their games.

Studios will reportedly be able to change specific aspects of games to fit into the PS5 Pro Enhanced category

This could mean, for example, that games played at resolutions between 1080p and 1440p with 30 FPS on the standard PS5 could be upscaled on the PS5 Pro to resolutions between 1280p and 2160p — however, maintaining 30 FPS. This would already be enough to classify the title in question as PS5 Pro Enhanced.

Additionally, developers will also be able to enable ray tracing just to earn the label — but without improving resolution or frame rate in the process. If a developer wants to just go with 60 FPS instead of 30 FPS, but at the same resolution, that could also qualify a title as PS5 Pro Enhanced.

However, Sony will not add the label to games that run at variable resolution — according to the outlet’s sources, this will only happen to games that enhance the maximum resolution. For example: if the resolution changes from 1440p / 2160p variable to 1800p / 2160p variable, the game will not fall into the Enhanced category.

It’s worth remembering that the requirements for the PS5 Pro Enhanced badge are similar to what Sony did with the PS4 Pro. Certainly, even if this is a rumor of The Vergeit seems that the Japanese giant will give developers freedom to choose which aspects they want to improve in their games.

Remembering that The PS5 Pro will be released on November 7th for $700 — the price in Brazil has not yet been confirmed. What did you think of the console reveal? Comment your impressions on the social networks Voxel!
