Funko has released two double sets of Pop! Rocks inspired by the famous and award-winning French electronic music band Daft Punk. The band was formed in Paris by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo in 1993 and has won 6 Grammys as lead artists.
The Daft Punk “Discovery Era” Pop! Rocks Vinyl Figures 2-Pack comes with the French musicians dressed in the look of the album Discovery, released on March 12, 2001 by Virgin Records (9.7 cm). The album sold more than 2.6 million copies and has six classic singles: “One More Time”, “Aerodynamic” and “Digital Love”, “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”, “Face to Face” and “Something About Us”. The disc was also the soundtrack for the anime Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem (2003), directed by Leiji Matsumoto.
The Daft Punk “Alive” Pop! Rocks Vinyl Figures Exclusive 2-Pack captures the duo with the famous costume, including the iconic gold and silver helmets, used on the 2007 Alive tour, which featured a 12-meter-high pyramid with hexagonal LEDs, which lit up in sync with the songs (9.9 cm). The album won the Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2009.
The Daft Punk “Alive” Pop! costs AU$49.99 at Popcultcha and the Daft Punk “Discovery Era” Pop! Rocks Vinyl Figures 2-Pack costs US$29.99 on pre-order from Entertainment Earth, which accepts orders from Brazil.
