No Rest for the Wicked is Moon Studios’ newest game, a studio known for the acclaimed Ori franchise. Although previously worked in partnership with Microsoft, since the end of collaboration the relationship between the two does not seem to be the best.
Thomas Mahler, CEO of Moon Studios, recently commented on the release of No Rest for the Wicked for consoles. According to him, the game may initially come to the PS5 and maybe switch 2, with Xbox outside. The reason? To the “Current market conditions”.
“By the way, given the current conditions of the market, we may only launch on PS5 and potentially on Switch 2 for now – we will need to talk to Microsoft to see what makes sense to Xbox.”
According to Mahler, the studio’s goal is to support all current consoles, but that the initial priority will be based on numbers and market viability, which for it means to launch first on PS5.
We want to support the consoles and, analyzing only the numbers, the PS5 makes more sense at the moment. Eventually, we will launch on all platforms, but probably not at the same time! ”
The CEO states need to make this decision because creating a full version for consoles costs many resources. “Moon prioritizes quality above all, so if we do something, we want to have the time necessary to do the right way. ‘he commented.
The Ojá game had been announced for Xbox, but Mahler’s lines suggest that Microsoft’s console version could arrive after the others. Still, the CEO emphasizes that “There is nothing official to confirm at the moment”.
In Rest for the Wicked is currently available for PC in early access, not yet having a release date for the final version.
There’s nothing to officially confirm yet.
We want to support consoles and just looking at the numbers, PS5 makes the most sense at the moment.
Ultimately we’ll ship on all platforms, but likely not at the same time!

Entitlement much?
It costs a ton of resources to make a full console port – As I said, ultimately we’ll be on all platforms, but that’ll take some time.
Moon is about quality above all, so if we do something, we want to take the time to do it right.
