Assassin’s Creed is a true “walking metamorphosis”. The franchise has undergone numerous changes to its formula since it arrived in video games in 2007, betting on both the open world full of activities and the more linear experience. In an interview published on the French publisher’s official website last Thursday (27), CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that remakes of the franchise’s classics Assassin’s Creed are part of the company’s plans to launch titles in the saga more frequently and with a “greater variety of experiences”.

The executive added that Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexethe next main title in the franchise after the debut of Shadows in 2024, it will also be “a very different game” and one that will potentially “surprise people”.

“There are many good things to come, including Assassin’s Creed Hexewhich will be a very different game from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. I think we’re going to surprise people,” he explained on the official website.

Bom, Ubi has yet to specify which games will be getting a remake, let alone reveal when they will be released. — although, certainly, many fans are eager to relive the adventures of Ezio Auditore, Altair and many other iconic assassins.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will kick off “phase three” of the franchise

Originally announced in September 2022 as Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, Shadows is being created by Ubisoft Quebec, the same studio as AC Odyssey. The new game will kick off what the publisher calls “phase three” of the saga — although further details have not been released at this time.

It’s just speculation on our part, but perhaps this so-called “phase three” is related to the periods and different scopes of the games in the series, which has sold more than 200 million copies since its debut.

For example: from the first game until AC Syndicatewould refer to the first phase — more linear games with a focus on narrative. Already from AC Origins until AC Valhalla may refer to a second set, this one focused on open world experiences and exploration.
