Mortal Kombat 1: Homeland gets gameplay trailer and release date

The penultimate fighter from the first Kombat Pack Mortal Kombat 1 is about to join the game’s big roster. Homelander, superhero of the series The Boys which doesn’t measure the concepts of insanity very well, will be released on June 4th in the fighting gameconfirmed NetherRealm Studios this Wednesday (29).

The North American studio took the opportunity to reveal a brutal new trailer for the character. The content shows Homelander (who is not voiced by Antony Starr, his original actor) in action against Liu Kang, Kitana and Sub-Zero — while exploring his skill kit.

As expected, the moves are based on his superpowers in the best Superman style. Therefore, he is able to fly, shoot lasers from his eyes and throw violent punches and kicks. For those who watched the series, his Fatality is also a nice reference to the plane scene in the first season. Check out:

Captain Patria will join the cast of Mortal Kombat 1 on June 4th in early access via the Kombat Pack — and for all other players on June 11th. In addition to him, Ferra was also presented in the new trailer — but she should only arrive as a Kameo fighter at the end of June.

Meet Captain Homeland, the next Mortal Kombat 1 fighter

Captain Patria is a fictional character from the series The Boys, available in the Prime Video catalog. The fourth season of the show is scheduled to arrive on the service on June 13th.

The big shot is the supreme leader and most powerful member of the Seven, a group of superheroes sponsored by Vought International — an “evil” megacorporation. Homelander is widely revered by the public as a symbol of heroism and patriotism, although behind the scenes he is portrayed as manipulative, cruel, and morally corrupt.

Basically, the character serves as a satirical and critical representation of traditional superheroes, questioning the notions of morality and responsibility that are generally associated with them. Therefore, it fits like a glove to the cast of Mortal Kombat 1 — as well as Peacemaker, another fighter who also came from a series of heroes.

Although he was not voiced by Antony Starr, the New Zealand actor who plays the hero in the series, Homelander will come with his classic look that is instantly recognizable to fans.
