The special Summer Game Fest Xbox Games Showcase took place this Sunday, the 9th, and brought new games from studios under the Microsoft Gaming umbrella, including Activision Blizzard, arriving in 2024 and beyond. One of the highlights of the presentation was the first gameplay trailer for Perfect Dark, Fable e DOOM: The Dark Ages.

Furthermore, the presentation served as a stage for the revelation of very promising new intellectual properties, which are not necessarily exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem. Among them, it is worth mentioning the turn-based RPG Expedition 33 and the action game South of Midnight.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

After months of speculation, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was officially revealed with a story trailer. Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, also reaffirmed that the game will be the first in the franchise to be available to Game Pass subscribers at launch, on October 25th.

DOOM

Also confirming rumors, DOOM: The Dark Ages was one of the first games shown during the Xbox Games Showcase. The game features the high-speed first-person action that the series is already known for, but with a medieval theme that seeks to uncover the origin of the Doom Slayer’s fury.

In the video, the protagonist appears using an arsenal of futuristic weapons, but also a shield with chainsaws and bladed weapons. The game is scheduled for release in 2025, without a set date, with versions for PC, Xbox Series and PS5. As usual, it will also be available on Game Pass from day one.

State of Decay 3

Produced by Undead Labs, State of Decay 3 finally appeared after more than four years of waiting. However, it was not this time that fans were able to check out the gameplay in depth, as the video shown was pre-rendered.

Unfortunately, the game also did not receive a release date.

Dragon Age

Formerly known as DreadwolfDragon Age: The Veilguard is the continuation of BioWare’s renowned RPG franchise, which has not received any new features since 2014.

The new trailer highlighted some of its character classes and confirmed a release date for the Brazilian summer of 2024.

Starfield

One of the brand’s main games in 2023, Starfield has gained details of its next content update. Titled Shattered Spacethe expansion arrives in 2024, but players will be able to enjoy an update today with new locations, items and even support for community modifications.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Produced by Sandfall Interactive, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a promising new fantasy RPG with turn-based combat that is in development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. The game draws attention for its photography and creature design, drawing many comparisons with Final Fantasy e Lost Odyssey.

It is worth remembering that it will also be available on Game Pass from launch, scheduled for sometime in 2025.

South of Midnight

South of Midnight, da Compulsion Games, South of Midnight is a new third-person exploration and combat game with beautiful stylized visuals, reminiscent of stop motion.

So far, the game does not have a release date, but is scheduled for 2025 with versions for PC, Xbox Series and Game Pass.

Metal Gear Solid Delta

The long-awaited remake of the third numbered game in Hideo Kojima’s franchise, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater got its first gameplay trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase. It is possible to see several recognizable moments from the original title and combat scenes, but with emphasis on the updated visuals for the current generation.

The game is in development for PC and consoles, but there is no release date yet.

Sea of Thieves

Rare’s biggest recent success, Sea of ​​Thieves will get a new content update soon, on July 25th, with its 13th season. The gameplay trailer shows some of what players can expect, including a new battleship for the villain Flameheart in a new event.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a new third-person action game with real-time combat and fantasy elements, but with a Victorian aesthetic.

It is officially described as a “soulslite”, from the same creators as Ashen, and will be available from July 18th for PC and Xbox Series, including Game Pass.

Age of Mythology: Retold

Scheduled for September 4th, the real-time strategy classic will gain a completely redesigned version for current platforms. Entitled Age of Mythology: Retoldthe game seeks to revive the premise of the original, with a modern game design and updated visuals.

The release is confirmed for PC, Xbox Series and Game Pass.

Perfect Dark

Produced by The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics, Perfect Dark rose from the ashes. This new iteration is a first-person stealth game that appears to take inspiration from Deus Ex e Mirror’s Edgedue to its futuristic aesthetic and parkour movements.

The reveal video also shows rhythmic gunfights, all while the protagonist, Joanna Dark, tries to infiltrate to access confidential information in an attempt to stop criminal Daniel Carrington. However, the game, which faced serious problems in its development, remains without a release date.

Fable

The new Fable, from Playground Games, finally released its first gameplay trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase. It draws a lot of attention for its visuals and facial expressions, and the combat system seems to mix the use of group control spells and counterattacks quite naturally.

The game remains without a defined release date, but will arrive sometime in 2025 for PC and Xbox Series.

FragPunk

FragPunk is a new hero shooter that draws attention for its stylized visuals and the use of effect cards, which apply benefits and other changes to matches. Among the examples presented are the appearance of tall grass for camouflage or even the possibility of enlarging the opponents’ heads, to facilitate a kill.

The game revolves around combat between teams of five players and has a first-person perspective, with a selection of unique characters to try out. The release is scheduled for sometime in 2025 and should certainly be on the radar of fans of the genre.

Mixtape

Scheduled for 2025, Mixtape is a new game from Annapurna and the developers of The Artful Escape that arrives in 2025 for PC, Xbox and Game Pass. This is a precedent that says a lot about his aesthetic choice, which stands out with its colorful environments and characters.

The game features a great soundtrack, with DEVO, Siouxie and the Banshees and much more, and tells the story of a group of friends who are at the end of their school years and embark on an adventure together.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the sequel to Microsoft’s flight simulator. The game aims to be even more ambitious and aims to take advantage of the latest simulation, cloud and artificial intelligence technologies.

The launch is now scheduled for September 19th for PC and Xbox Series.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure

New game from the famous Dontnod Entertainment franchise, Life is Strange: Double Exposure promises a new narrative adventure in which its protagonist is able to investigate parallel realities, thanks to her supernatural powers. With that, she must investigate a murder case in an attempt to save her friend, Safi.

The release is scheduled for October 29th for PC and current generation consoles.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

From the team WolfensteinIndiana Jones and the Great Circle got a new gameplay trailer that shows a little more of what players can expect from its story, characters and mechanics.

The launch is still scheduled for 2024, but without a defined date, for PC and Xbox consoles.

Mecha Break

Giant robot enthusiasts have been well served with a new trailer for Mecha Breaka fast-paced, third-person combat game that mixes hand-to-hand combat, gunfights and even vehicle transformations.

Atomfall is a new first-person survival action game, produced by Rebellion, in which players must explore, collect loot and find answers in a world that has suffered a nuclear disaster.

The release is scheduled for sometime in 2025, with versions for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series. It also arrives on Game Pass at launch.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The long-awaited new game in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has received a new trailer highlighting the gameplay of Naoe, a Japanese native whose ninja mechanics are reminiscent of Tenchuand Yasuke, the historic black samurai who shines in his high-impact hand-to-hand combat.

It is worth remembering that the game will feature a 13-minute gameplay during Ubisoft Forward, scheduled for this Monday, the 10th. The launch is scheduled for November 15th for PC and current generation consoles.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl

Unfortunately, the announcement only came with a cinematic trailer and there are no gameplay or launch details.
