Valve co -founder Gabe Newell is undoubtedly one of the most important names in the game industry, especially for the PC. Although he was responsible for the creation of Steam, the executive today has led a more discreet life behind the scenes.

In a recent interview for a channel, Gabe commented a little about her daily life. Although working on personal projects, the developer states that nowadays he is practically retired, doing only what he likes while enjoying life on his yacht.

“My daily routine: I wake up, work, I do dive, work a little more, [depois] I do a second dive or go to the gym exercising. I live in a boat, so simply spend time with everyone on the boat. Then I go back to work.

I work seven days a week: I’m working on my room, as you can see. I like to work, it’s fun, it doesn’t look like work. The things I can do every day are super cool. I said that before, but when you retire, you want to stop doing a horrible job and do what is more fun and pleasant. In this sense, I’ve been retired for a long time. ”

Gabe’s work is related to two companies he was co-founder: Starfish Neuroscience, a company focused on neural interfaces, and Inkfish, a marine research company.

“In one of the companies, we are working on a pathogen detection device in the air, so you can see all the pathogens present around you. Brain-computing interfaces are incredibly cool, and all the neuroscience involved is amazing too. I just work all the time. But it’s not like my God, I’m turning the night killing me from working. ‘ It’s more like ‘I can’t sleep because I’m having fun’, you know? ”
