Hellblade 2 actress speaks Portuguese and would like to dub the game in Brazil

Brazilian dubbing is a reference around the world and games localized here are always very well received by the public — well, at least in most cases. Unfortunately, the long-awaited Hellblade 2 there will be no voices in our languagebut Melina Juergens, the actress who plays the protagonist Senua, has already signed up for the job if Microsoft changes its mind.

In an interview with colleagues from Young nerd, Juergens told a little more about his story with Ninja Theory — as well as his personal life and the experience of bringing Senua to life. The German actress, who also speaks Portuguese, has visited Brazil on a few occasions, one of the last being CCXP 2023, when she came to the country for the Xbox FanFest.

“I was shocked by the reception from the fans. I’ve never heard so many people shouting my name as loud as in Brazil, it was something new for me, it made me feel like a celebrity”, said Juergens. “People were holding up posters with my name on them and shouting with so much enthusiasm and passion.”

Ninja Theory confirmed that Hellblade 2 will only have subtitles in PT-BR, just like the first game. At the end of the interview, Juergens was asked which Brazilian actress would be ideal to voice the character here — and the answer was surprising.

“I would do the dubbing myself”, declared the actress, who was applauded by Dom Matthews, head of Ninja Theory. “My pronunciation is good enough, I could possibly manage it with a little help.” Is there still time to cast Juergens for a potential Brazilian casting?

When will Hellblade 2 be released?

Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga It is, without a doubt, the most anticipated Xbox exclusive of recent years. The sequel will arrive on Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 21st — and will also be available on Game Pass.

According to a brief plot, the game will place Senua on yet another brutal journey of survival through the myths and torments of Viking Iceland. “With the intention of saving those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny, Senua faces a battle to overcome internal and external darkness”, says the description available on the game’s official website.

It’s worth remembering that Juergens also took private lessons with a coach to help make the game’s combat as faithful to reality as possible. The desire to play soon only increases, doesn’t it?
