Trick or Treat Studios has put up for pre-sale the first board game inspired by the classic horror film Halloween, directed by John Carpenter in 1978.
Halloween – A Hidden Movement Board Game is a “1 vs Many” collaborative game where one of the players takes on the role of Michael Myers. The other participants take on the roles of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her friends to traverse the board, searching houses for useful items, weapons and the children Tommy and Lindsey.
The player who controls Michael Myers chases other players, being an ever-present danger throughout the game, as The Shape is only visible when someone is looking directly at it.
Players in a group win the game after dealing enough damage to Michael Myers or finding Tommy, Lindsey, and the car keys to escape to safety. The Myers controller wins by killing enough characters or preventing players from escaping for a set amount of time.
The game Halloween – A Hidden Movement Board Game comes with a special board with houses from the city of Haddonfield, character cards, cards, red and yellow okens, 5 dice, step pieces and 6 cardboard pieces with plastic bases and illustrations by Laurie Strode and Dr. Sam Loomis among others.
The game was created by Emerson Matsuuchi with art by Nathan Thomas Milliner and is the first board game from the original 1978 film to be officially licensed. It is suitable for 2 to 4 players over 14 years old and has an average duration of 60 minutes.
Trick or Treat Studios has also put up for pre-order the Halloween (1978) Game Miniature Characters set with 7 expertly sculpted and paintable mini-figures for use in the board game.
The Halloween – A Hidden Movement Game board game costs US$59.95 on direct pre-order from the Trick or Treat Studios Store.
