Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) arrives next year, promising to be the game that will bring the consoles to the limit, extracting the full potential of each device, especially the PS5 Pro, but there is a simple question: will have 60 FPS or not?
According to information shared by Insider Detective Seeds on social networks, PlayStation engineers are collaborating with Rockstar Games to optimize Grand Theft Auto VI.
The goal is to reach 60 FPS on the PlayStation 5 Pro, with multiple graphics settings. The partnership is facilitated by a marketing agreement between Sony and Rockstar, which may include PS5 Pro with GTA VI PS5 Promotional Packages.
“GTA VI is already, and continues, running 60 FPS while undergoing PS5 Pro optimizations in different graphics settings. PlayStation engineers are helping to optimize due to new technologies that are being implemented and should be released with a date scheduled for May 2026.”
“They are also helping in several other Rockstar titles that should leave soon (before updating the PS5 Pro in 2026). At the moment, the 60fps are being reached only in PS5 Pro (which can obviously change before release).”
“The expectation is that GTA VI has several graphic options on PS5 Pro at launch. In addition, the marketing agreement between Rockstar and Playstation is what is allowing and encouraging this collaboration in optimizations.”
“We should see several GTA VI promotional packages with PlayStation in the next major marketing campaign. This information comes from a PlayStation engineer who has provided highly accurate and verified data several times in the past,” said Insider.
PlayStation would also be helping Rockstar Games in other titles, such as possible next -generation updates for Red Dead Redemption 2 and a GTA IV size.
If confirmed, the 60 FPS performance on PS5 Pro can boost console sales, especially with the high expectation by GTA VI.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on May 26, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series S | X
