The Gamescom opening ceremony, known as Opening Night Live, took place this Tuesday (20). Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the event is known for bringing together several game announcements for all audiences and showing a little bit of what to expect from the release calendar.
This time, viewers were able to follow news from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Monster Hunter: Wilds and even A.I.L.A — new horror game from Brazilian producer Pulsatrix Studios, responsible for Phobia. In the following lines, the Voxel brings a summary of the best announcements from Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. Check it out:
A.I.L.A.
Also in the pre-show, Pulsatrix Studios showed an unreleased gameplay trailer for A.I.LA. The horror game features cutting-edge visuals and a narrative experience that promises to play with the theme of artificial intelligence, which has been on the rise in recent years. It is scheduled to be released in 2025 on PC, via Steam.
Street Fighter 6
Capcom has revealed the first gameplay video of Terry Bogard, Fatal Fury e The King of Fightersem Street Fighter 6. The fighter is part of the fighting game’s second character pass, which also promises the addition of Mai Shiranui and Elena to the roster.
Terry Bogard will be available from September 24th. It is worth remembering that Street Fighter 6 is available for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series, with crossplay support and rollback netcode.
Borderlands 4
Gearbox Software, responsible for Borderlandsopened Opening Night Live with the announcement trailer for the new game in the franchise — in contrast to the poor reception of the feature film that premiered this month.
Entitled only Borderlands 4the sequel is scheduled for sometime in 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. Unfortunately, the pre-rendered video didn’t provide any gameplay details, but the official description suggests that the game will be set on an entirely new planet.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Scheduled for October 25th, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has received a brief demonstration of its single-player campaign, which is being developed by Raven Software. The game will also be available to Game Pass subscribers and will have versions for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
Goat Simulator Remastered
With one of the most unusual trailers of the event, Goat Simulator Remastered has been confirmed for PC and current-generation consoles. According to the developer, the release is scheduled for 2024, but an exact date has not been released.
Persona 3: Reload
Atlus has released a new trailer for Episode Aigis: The Answer of Persona 3 Reload. The content, which is part of the Expansion Pass arriving on September 10, features a special boss battle starring iconic characters and themes from Persona 5 Royal.
Dying Light: The Beast
After leaks, Dying Light: The Beast was announced during Gamescom. Set in the universe of the Techland franchise, the game features Kyle Crane as the protagonist and promises around twenty hours of gameplay.
Production began as an expansion of Dying Light 2: Stay Humanbut the development team chose to release it as a standalone story that promises to be a good entry point into the franchise. The game does not yet have a release date.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
One of the most anticipated games of the year, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has received a new gameplay trailer that shows iconic scenes from Akira Toriyama’s work and a diverse cast of characters, which is the signature of the classic franchise Budokai Tenkaichi.
It is worth remembering that the launch is scheduled for October 10th with versions for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
Path of Exile 2
The long-awaited sequel to the Grinding Gear Games series, Path of Exile 2 has been given a date to start its Early Access: November 15th.
Additionally, a new gameplay trailer was released to highlight its next-gen visuals and boss combat. The game will be available for free on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
Dune Awakening
Inspired by the series of the same name, Dune Awakening has received a detailed gameplay trailer that delves into its universe and mechanics, which mix exploration, survival, combat and base building. The MMORPG will be available in early 2025 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
Reanimal
From the creators of Little NightmaresReanimal is a new horror adventure game that is in development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. In the story, two brothers go through hell to rescue their missing friends and escape the island they call home.
Genshin Impact
In preparation for Natlan’s arrival and in celebration of his fourth birthday, Genshin Impact also gained news during Gamescom.
Now, it’s been confirmed that HoYoverse’s free-to-play action RPG will be coming soon to Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles: November 20th.
Monster Hunter Wilds
New iteration of Capcom’s hit franchise, Monster Hunter Wilds received a new gameplay trailer during Gamescom. The release is still scheduled for 2025, with no set date yet.
The video gives us our first look at the Scarlet Forest, as well as an arachnid monster known as Lala Barina that promises to be a major threat. Capcom also revealed that each area of the game will be ruled by an Apex Predator, bringing new ways to immerse yourself in and explore its hostile world.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
In addition to confirming the launch for April 24, 2025, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves also revealed gameplay of Mai Shiranui, who is a classic fighter from the SNK franchise.
The game will have versions for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, in addition to supporting technologies essential to the genre – including crossplay and rollback netcode, SNK guarantees. The launch roster will have 17 selectable fighters, in addition to five more that will arrive via DLC in the first season of content.
Civilization VII
Gamescom served as the stage for the first-hand reveal of gameplay for Sid Mier’s Civilization VII. The game introduces new gameplay mechanics and a new artistic direction, and is described as the most ambitious title of its kind. The release is also confirmed for February 11, 2025.
Marvel Rivals
The new hero shooter featuring comic book heroes, Marvel Rivals, has revealed two playable characters: Captain America and the Winter Soldier. In addition, the launch has been confirmed for December 6, with all heroes unlocked from the start.
Little Nightmares 3
Bandai Namco’s famous franchise also received a new gameplay trailer during Gamescom. The new gameplay video Little Nightmares 3 brought some of its puzzles, which require collaboration, and dark setting. Unfortunately, a release date has not yet been announced.
The First Berseker: Khazan
Set in the Dungeon Fighter Online universe, The First Berseker: Khazan has been confirmed for release in early 2025, with a closed test scheduled for October 11.
The new gameplay trailer also shows off some of its action, with dodge-based combat and fast-paced sequences set in a dark fantasy world.
Floatopia
Floatopia is a new life simulator game reminiscent of Animal Racing that was unveiled at Gamescom. The game draws attention with its cute aesthetics and the ability to play with multiple friends simultaneously.
The launch is scheduled for 2025 with versions for PC, PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, with no set date yet. You can already register to receive updates about the game and, who knows, have the opportunity to play it in advance.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
One of the most anticipated Xbox games, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been confirmed for release on December 9th on Xbox consoles and PC. It is worth remembering that the game will also be available in the Xbox Game Pass catalog.
Furthermore, the inevitable was also announced: the game was confirmed to be released for PlayStation 5. However, the release will happen later, in the second quarter of 2025.
Mafia: The Old Country
Hangar 13 has revealed Mafia: The Old Country, the new game in the franchise that promises to show the origins of organized crime in Sicily, Italy, back in the 1900s. The game promises authentic realism and a rich narrative that does justice to the franchise’s history, according to the developer.
There are no release details yet, but more information is expected to be released in December of this year — possibly during The Game Awards, which is another Geoff Keighley event.
