Recently, BioWare and EA decided to change the name of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Well, as last week’s leaks pointed out, the game had its first big glimpse during the Xbox Game Showcase last Sunday (09).
The trailer for the sequel presented at the Xbox event showed a cinematic featuring the members of the Veilguard, a group of heroes that will form the backbone of the game’s story. All characters are shown, with each of them being of different classes and races — while it is also possible to see the return of Varric.
Now, during an event of Dragon Age: The Veilguard presented by EA this Tuesday (11), it was possible to see the first intense gameplay of the sequence in a video lasting more than 20 minutes. Check out:

The gameplay of Dragon Age: The Veilguard begins with Rook and Varric arriving in Minrathous to meet Detective Neve Gallus, one of the Veilguard members. While they search for their companion, the city begins to be attacked by enemies of all sizes — from monsters to humans.
The first real gameplay scene shows intricate, versatile and very fluid combat — characteristics that have helped popularize the franchise over the past few years. The battle scenes are from the perspective of Rook, who has fast and frantic skills with dual swords, while Lace and Varric provide support with their long-range weapons.

Another interesting thing to note are the dialogues and the unfolding of the situations that the game puts you in. They will be shaped based on player choices — so think carefully before you act.
After finding Gallus, the group faces a mini-boss in a really versatile and fast fight, with lots of sword strikes and different spells. The look of Dragon Age: The Veilguard It’s surprising and the gameplay also seems very satisfying.
The conclusion sees Solas’ plans being thwarted by the Veilguard. The game really looks very promising!

Looking forward to Dragon Age: The Veilguard? Find out that the sequel will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The opening window was in the Brazilian spring, period between September and December — although the exact date has not been confirmed at this time.
