Having helped in the development of Left 4 Dead, Turtle Rock Studios decided to venture alone in the industry and thus created its own franchises, also cooperatives, in the style of Valve’s game.
In this middle was born Evolve, a very interesting game, but unfortunately was not very successful and was soon discontinued by Turtle Rock Studios, and thus started the work in another project.
As discovered, Evolve 2 was developing by Turtle Rock Studios, but was canceled after a few months of pre-production. A former studio artist revealed concept arts from the canceled project.
See some:
The arts show new environments, including a mining station in an asteroid called “The Akhenaten” and cities on the original game planet Shear. The project was abandoned so that Turtle Rock could focus on other games, such as Back 4 Blood.
Evolve (2015) was an asymmetrical multiplayer game that lost popularity due to criticism of repetitive design and excess DLCs, with deactivated servers in 2018. In 2022, Evolve had a brief return with Peer-to-Peer servers, but was completely disabled by 2023.
There are indications that the studio is working on a possible Back 4 Blood sequence, although not confirmed.
