The long-awaited expansion of Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, was announced last year — with the first glimpse of the new adventure only being released in February this year. Now, by surprise, FromSoftware revealed an epic story trailer for the DLC this Tuesday (21).
If you’re one of the Tainted Ones eager for more adventures in the Middle Lands, know that Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on June 21st for PlayStation, Xbox and PC — in exactly one month.
The trailer gives more specific details about the expansion’s story, but also reveals new breathtaking scenarios and enemies scarier than ever. The DLC of Elden Ringwithout a doubt, will bring a lot of content for soulslike lovers.

What is the story of the Elden Ring DLC?
According to the information, the story of the DLC of Elden Ring will focus on the adventures of Miquella, Marika’s son and Malenia’s twin brother, through the Land of Shadows — a place obscured by the Erdtree and purged in an unknown war.
Miquella is a key figure in the mythology of Elden Ring, but never actually appears in the main adventure. In fact, it is mentioned in a relatively small optional section of the game and in several item descriptions — something very characteristic of FromSoftware.

Just like Malenia, who was cursed with the Scarlet Rot, Miquella was condemned to eternally have the body of a child. The deity spent many years looking for ways to cure his and his sister’s curses under the beliefs of the Golden Order.
Unsuccessful, he abandoned the Order and created Haligtree in an attempt to rival Erdtree. With that, he created a cocoon for himself inside Haligtree, but ended up being kidnapped by his half-brother, Mohg, the Lord of Blood.
Mohg wanted to awaken and ascend Miquella to true godhood and become her consort, but the player can kill Mohg in the base game before this happens — leaving Miquella in a sort of eternal coma inside the cocoon.

Em Shadow of the Erdtree, we know that Miquella actually traveled to the Land of Shadows, but for unknown reasons. Therefore, it will be up to the player to track the character’s steps and explore this new kingdom as well.
Who is the big villain in Shadow of the Erdtree?
Another important character who appeared once again in the new DLC story trailer Elden Ring It’s Messmer the Impaler.
His bold design, all crafted from sparkling red armor with fire powers and a pet snake, suggests that he will be an important character in the events of Shadow of the Erdtree.
