Dying Light: The Beast It is the new chapter of the popular zombie franchise and promises to rescue the elements that won fans in the original game. Although it is an open world title, the game will have a leaner campaign, with an estimated duration of about 20 hours.

Director Tymon Smektala defended this creative choice, noting that “Size is not everything”. According to him, games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows They are excessively long to justify the investment, but many players end up exploring only part of the content without reaching the end.

“If I start playing Assassin’s Creed Shadows, basically from the beginning I already know I will never finish it. I feel I had a return for the investment, but it is not for completing the game. […] Finishing the game basically begins to look like a boring task at a certain point. I don’t want to pay more for an obligation, right? ”

Despite the shorter campaign, Dying Light: The Beast will be released for US $ 59.99 (R $ 319.90 in Brazil). Still, Smektala is confident that the game will be worth every penny, thanks to the immersion of the created world.

“Open worlds are not about scale. They are about their feeling of being there. So we can create an open world that may not be so expansive, but if it is made by hand, if it seems real, the player’s satisfaction in being in that world is much larger.”

Dying Light: The Beast will be released on August 22 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series x | s.
