O Rio de Janeiro will receive another international LAN in 2024. Next year, the Marvelous City will host the Global Esports Tour (GET). The event is the second LAN competition to be held in the city in 2024.
According to journalist Gabriel Melo, from Dust2 Brasil, the competition will start in April next year. The tournament will feature men’s and women’s competitions. In addition to the tournament organizer, the Global Esports Tour, the Brazilian Games Confederation (CBGE) and the State Government will support the event.
Still according to the publication, the entities agreed to hold the competition in April 2023, one year before the tournament starts, until 2025. On the 27th, the prize pool and format will be defined at the launch of the tournament in Rio de Janeiro.
The Marvelous City has a history of major electronic sports events. The city has already received the IEM Rio Major 2022 e IEM Rio 2023 no CS:GO; ESL Pro League of Rainbow Six e MSI of LoL.
