Counter-Strike is one of Valve’s strongest franchises, and when it comes to it, there is usually only CS 1.6 and CS 2 (former CS: GO), while Counter-Strike: Source ends up being completely forgotten.

However, the truth is that Counter-Strike: Source still maintains a very faithful base of players. The FPS registered hours ago a large increase of players at Steam.

24 hours ago, Counter-Strike: Source reached the maximum peak of 54,370 players, while 51,548 are playing at the exact moment of this publication. The maximum peak reached by the game was 100,056, 16 years ago.

Recently, CS: S and Half-Life 2 content has been integrated into the Garry’s Mod, allowing players to access custom maps without having to have or install CS: s.

The integration was made possible with the permission of Valve, eliminating error textures (pink and black) in maps that required CS: s. In this case, the GMod update may have generated a return of players to Counter-Strike: Source.

Anyway, it is not totally clear that this increase in interest in Counter-Strike: Source, not to mention that there are reports of many servers with bots promoting Russian websites.
