It seems that Remedy continues to work behind the scenes to bring even more news to the company’s fans. In a statement on the official blog this Thursday (29), the studio revealed that it has entered into a new partnership with Annapurna Interactive, owner of Stray (the kitten game).

According to the information, the publisher will contribute financially to the production of Control 2 — as well as bringing Remedy’s top properties to “film, TV and beyond”. That’s right, now fans can also look forward to a major film production involving the franchises. Control e Alan Wake.

“Remedy is excited (as excited as the Finns could be) to announce that we are working together with Annapurna, who are co-funding the development of Control 2 and taking the franchises Control e Alan Wake for film, TV and beyond,” the official blog post said.

However, this new partnership does not necessarily mean that Annapurna Interactive will be responsible for the distribution of Control 2. This will still be the responsibility of Remedy, which will only receive financial assistance and a little push from its new partner to take the company’s main properties to other media.

Remedy continues to work “full steam ahead” on Control 2

In the post, Remedy also reiterated that it continues to work hard on producing Control 2. “The development team of Control 2 is working hard on the game. We know you’re eager for news about it (and Condor), but you’ll have to wait a little longer for that.”

The one person who seems to have approved of the new partnership between Remedy and Annapurna is the company’s creative director, Sam Lake. “I’m absolutely thrilled with the opportunity to expand the story of Alan Wake and our entire universe for media beyond games and build all of this as a unified vision,” celebrated the executive. “I trust that Annapurna is the perfect partner to make this dream a reality.”

Annapurna’s president of interactive media, Hector Sanchez, added: “This deal with Remedy isn’t just about adapting great games, it’s about breaking new ground in how companies can collaborate.”

“We know from experience that Remedy is a first-class partner and we are excited to share their work with an even wider audience by bringing the universes of Control e Alan Wake for film, television and beyond,” concluded Sanchez.
