Loungefly has put a new backpack featuring the classic character Casper the Friendly Ghost, created by Seymour Reit and Joe Oriolo in 1939 for a children’s book and star of the 1995 film directed by Brad Silberling, up for pre-sale.
The Casper the Friendly Ghost Glow Mini Backpack features a dark blue background with the haunted mansion Whipstaff Manor in applique with its towers protruding outward. The front pocket is decorated with glow-in-the-dark ghosts, including an applique of the friendly ghost in white and his evil uncles: Stretch, Fatso and Stinkie in blue.
The Casper the Friendly Ghost Glow Mini Backpack features side pockets decorated with illustrations of other characters including Carrigan Crittenden, Paul “Dibs” Plutzker and Dr. James Harvey, as well as Casper and Kathleen “Kat” Harvey dancing on the back with the question “Can I Keep You?” The front pocket zips shut with a charm featuring the name “Whipstaff” in stylized lettering, and the interior has a ghost-themed lining.
The backpack is made of polyurethane, has adjustable straps, silver metal hardware, fluorescent paint and embossed, appliquéd and printed details. It measures approximately 22.86 cm by 26.7 cm by 11.4 cm and has been officially licensed by Universal Studios.
The Casper the Friendly Ghost Glow Mini Backpack is available for pre-order at Entertainment Earth, which is accepting orders from Brazil.
