Star Ace and X-Plus have announced an incredible and perfect bust of the robot Maschinenmensch Maria from the classic silent film Metropolis directed in 1927 by the brilliant Austrian director Fritz Lang.
The Maria the Maschinenmensch Metropolis 1/2 Scale Bust has been meticulously sculpted from high-quality polyresin with intricate detailing and a fantastic glossy silver paint job with premium finish to replicate the metallic allure of the original Maschinenmensch design.
The Maria the Maschinenmensch Metropolis 1/2 Scale Bust is set on a special base with a design inspired by the iconic futuristic city with the “Metropolis” logo. The sculpture was made based on the film and photos by photographer Horst von Harbou, who used to work with Fritz Lang, available at the German film library Deutsche Kinemathek.
The bust, in 1:2 scale, stands at an imposing 50 cm (19.68″) tall and comes packaged in a luxury collector’s box. The bust has been officially licensed by the heirs of artist Walter Schulze-Mittendorff, who created the original Maschinenmensch Maria sculpture.
The Maria the Maschinenmensch Metropolis 1/2 Scale Bust costs US$499.99 in pre-sale at BigBadToyStore, which accepts orders from Brazil.
