It’s been a while since we’ve seen a month of big releases, but August looks like it’s going to be more promising. In addition to some interesting indie games, we’ll also see the arrival of an expansion for World of Warcrafta highly anticipated action RPG and a new title in the franchise Star Wars.

August 1st

Thank Goodness You’re Here! (PS4, Ps5, Switch e PC)

To start the month, we have Thank Goodness You’re Herean indie platformer that focuses heavily on humor and its unique visuals. In this game, you play the role of a traveling salesman who arrives in an English town and must perform increasingly strange favors for the local population.

August 8th

SteamWorld Heist 2 (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch e PC)

The franchise SteamWorld has received several titles in recent years, but this time it is the sequel to SteamWorld Heist which will be highlighted on August 8th. The game follows the same type of gameplay as its predecessor, as you will have to control Captain Leeway and his crew of robots during their adventures on the high seas.

You will be able to participate in many naval combats while also raiding enemy bases in search of valuable items.

Cat Quest III (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch e PC)

Taking advantage of the naval theme, we will also see the launch of Cat Quest III on August 8th. In this 2.5D action RPG, you can explore an open world full of adventures, with the advantage of being a very cute kitten, as the name of the game already indicates.

The goal is to sail the seas in search of treasure and wealth, but you will still have to deal with many Sea Rats and the dangers caused by the Pirate King along the way.

August 20th

Black Myth: Wukong (PS5 e PC)

On August 20th, we have one of the most anticipated games of the month, Black Myth: Wukong. This action RPG is coming to consoles and PC with a very interesting theme inspired by Chinese mythology. There’s no denying that it could be one of the best titles of the year, as it looks very beautiful and promising in all its trailers.

The problem is that some of its developers have already admitted that they are facing a lot of pressure and several challenges in this final period of the project, so perhaps it is better to lower our expectations a little and wait to see if the game will really deliver everything it promised. It is worth mentioning that although the initial release will be for PS5 and PC, an Xbox Series version will come later.

Dustborn (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S e PC)

Also on the 20th, you can also enjoy Dustborn. This single-player action-adventure game focuses heavily on narrative and will put you in the role of Pax, an exiled con artist who has accepted the task of crossing the country to deliver an important package to a client.

Of course, the journey won’t be that easy, but at least you’ll be able to enjoy a beautiful trip with a very dysfunctional crew.

August 26th

World of Warcraft: The War Within (PC)

Even after so many years, World of Warcraft remains firm, strong and still receives new expansions with impressive frequency. The newest chapter of this journey is The War Withinwhich arrives on PC on August 26th.

As expected, you will be able to enjoy new adventures, discover new areas and enjoy a lot of content alone or in a group.

August 29th

Visions of Mana (PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S e PC)

For JRPG fans, we have Visions of Manathe latest game in the franchise Manawhich had not received a new main title since Dawn of Manaem 2006.

We don’t even need to say how much this game is anticipated, especially since it was initially announced in 2021 and will only arrive now on August 29th on PC and old and current consoles.

August 30th

Star Wars Outlaws (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)

To end the month on a high note, we have Star Wars Outlaws. The game is being developed by Massive Entertainment and will be published by Ubisoft on current-generation consoles and PC on August 30. The title will be a third-person action-adventure and will be set between the events of the films. The Empire Strikes Back e Return of the Jedibut with a completely new narrative.

Although many fans are worried about the possible final result of the game, there is no denying that expectations are also very high. We will just have to wait and see.
