ABYstile has partnered with pen giant Bic to launch two themed 4-Color pens inspired by two classic works.
The Cthulhu 4-Colour BIC Pen has a green bottom decorated with a sinister illustration of the world-eater from the short story “The Call of Cthulhu”, written in 1926 by HP Lovecraft and originally published in Weird Tales magazine in February 1928.
The Hokusai The Great Wave off Kanagawa 4-Colour BIC Pen reproduces on the bottom the super famous woodcut The Great Wave off Kanagawa, created by the Japanese painter and printmaker Katsushika Hokusai between 1830 and 1831. The print is part of the ukiyo-e series “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” and depicts a huge wave threatening a small fishing boat in Kanagawa Prefecture, with Mount Fuji in the background.
Four-Colour pens allow you to change the ink colour without changing the pen and were invented in 1969 by Marcel Bich, the founder of BIC. The pens come in four colours: blue, black, red and green and the original design of the pen has a white ball on the top that represents the head of the “Bic boy”, the company’s logo. The ball was also used to dial on old rotary telephones. Each pen measures 14.4 cm long by 1.6 cm in diameter.
Each themed 4-Colour BIC Pen costs €4.99 in the ABYstile Europe Store.
