While Beyond Good and Evil 2 has become an urban legend, the first game will have a special 20th anniversary edition very soon. Ubisoft announced Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition last year, stating that the remaster would be released sometime in 2024.
After months without news, now the publisher has dropped the hammer: the remaster of the first Beyond Good and Evil will be released next Tuesday (25) for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The news was made official by surprise on Ubisoft’s social networks, along with a beautiful trailer with more details about the production. Check it out below:
The game’s trailer shows the entire adventure in high definition, with updated textures, calibrated frame rate and graphics worthy of a classic. Fans will potentially get some nostalgia from the remaster.

Originally released in 2003 for PS2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube, Beyond Good and Evil was an acclaimed adventure directed by Michel Ancel, the same creator of the iconic franchise Rayman.
The remaster of the classic will feature support for 4K resolution and 60 FPS, a reorchestrated soundtrack, new quality of life features such as auto-save, cross-save, the ability to skip scenes and much more.

There’s also a new speedrun mode, as well as updated achievements and trophies, full keyboard and mouse support, and remapped controls. Never-before-seen behind-the-scenes development videos are also included in the package.
Curiously, the remaster of the first game will also include a completely new and exclusive mission that will be tied to Beyond Good and Evil 2. Is the sequel still in development?
What is the story of Beyond Good and Evil?
Set on planet Hillys, Beyond Good and Evil follows the story of Jade, a journalist and resistance fighter who seeks to expose a government and alien conspiracy.
With the protagonist, players can explore different environments, solve a series of puzzles and face enemies in very dynamic combat. In addition to combining exploration elements in an open world, there are also moments of stealth where Jade needs to document evidence against corruption using a camera.

Although its initial release was not a great commercial success, the game gained cult status and continues to be appreciated by fans. Its future is still unclear, but it appears that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in the plans — at least officially.
